- Do you suffer from scarring, melasma and pigmentation but worried about using chemicals on your face?
- Do you suffer from wrinkles, fine lines, saggy skin and facial volume loss but would prefer not to use invasive procedures such as anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers?
- Have you tried a derma-roller treatment but with no results?
When Should You Consider Medical Microneedling?
What is Medical Microneedling?
Microneedling is known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure which involves puncturing the skin repeatedly with devices such as a dermal roller or a mechanical device, creating little micro-injuries to the skin.
How Microneedling could help you?
This stimulates the skins natural healing process resulting in the production of collagen and fibroblasts, both essential for skin rejuvenation and promoting good skin health.
Research has shown, that depending on the nature of the device used, the skin continues to produce collagen after this treatment for up to 256 days so this is a perfect treatment to maintain your skin.
It can be used as a treatment on its own or combined with other treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, mesotherapy and peels to rejuvenate and refresh our skin and address various signs of ageing.
At Skin Essential Clinic, we use a clinically proven mechanical high-precision device which reduces the risk of epidermal damage. It is more effective than traditional rollers and ensures optimal safety by elimination cross-contamination due to backflow. We can also optimize results using a deeper needle depth, hence the term medical micro needling, as this can only be offered by a medically trained practitioner.
Micro-needling can be used to address ageing and skin concerns such as:
- Deep Lines and Wrinkles
- Skin laxity
- Acne Scarring
- Minor Scarring
- Pigmentation
- Stretch marks
- Enlarged Pores
- Hair loss

A bit about our microneedling device -Derma FNS
Fractional lasers create vertical channels into the skin, maintaining the integrity of the skin surface but stimulating dermal processes leading to skin tightening and remodelling.
Derma FNS™ uses multiple needles that vertically pierce the skin to create similar vertical channels which are designed to achieve the same effect, with minimal epidermal damage. It is thought that it is the greater density of channels that leads to enhanced results over dermal rollers.
It uses vertical insertions to create thousands of tiny holes in the skin, causing the release of serum growth factors which stimulate the breakdown of old fibrous collagen and stimulate new collagen and elastin development.
Its results are comparable in effect to ablative treatments such as Fraxel, IPL and Laser Resurfacing but at a fraction of the cost and with much less downtime and minimal damage to the integrity of the skin.
Advantages compared to dermal rollers
- Better results – a greater number of insertions
- Speed much faster, thousands of holes in seconds
- Shorter treatment times – can cut treatment time in half
- Adjustable needle depth so we can treat specific areas safely and effectively
- Less pain & faster recovery time than dermal rollers
- Easy to treat under the eyes, side of the nose and across the top lip
