What are the side-effects of anti-wrinkle injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections are well-tolerated in most cases. The injections cause minimal discomfort, almost like an ant bite or a pinch. This can be minimised by using a numbing agent but often not required.

Some clients may experience some bleeding, bruising, swelling and redness around injection site right after treatment however this usually subsides over a few hours.

Sometimes some patients may experience headaches and double vision, muscle twitching, eyelid swelling, dry eyes, skin infection and a skin rash and very rarely an allergic reaction is possible.

Due to toxin spread some clients may sometimes experience unwanted effects such as droopy eyes and a heavy forehead.

In most cases these get better with time or can be can be addressed depending on the indication, e.g. lubricating eye drops for dry eyes.
